Attic Insulation

Heat leaves a building upward, so the attic is the first place worth spending money and the easiest place to do badly. We install to a measured depth and check it before we pack up.

Measured depth, not eyeballed

Depth is the whole job in an attic. We check it with a rule rather than judging by eye. If one corner is short, that corner is where next winter heat goes.

Foam or cellulose

Plenty of attics want blown-in cellulose. Others need foam at the roof deck or the soffit line. The assessment decides, not the product brochure.

Existing homes and new builds

On a new build we come in while the cavity is open. On an eighty-year house we work through the hatch and leave the upstairs cleaner than we found it.
